A bit of background:

The Rhoda Institute is a project of Sanad Collective, a registered charity founded in 2012 by Shaykh Hamdi Ben Aissa, Anse Shehnaz Karim, and a team of dedicated brothers and sisters – too many to name but all important and vital members of this project!

The Rhoda opened its doors in 2016, with the intention of making balanced, meaningful, and safe teachings about Islam accessible to all. We offer learning opportunities that connect people to the sacred heritage of humanity: the wisdom imparted by the Prophets and Sages since the beginning of time, and especially the teachings of Prophet Muhammadﷺ, the Universal Guide who encompassed this wisdom in perfect form and who is the Teacher for our times.

How learning takes place:

It’s our aim to offer holistic learning in which mind, spirit, and practice are balanced and developed in tandem. In a time when keeping in touch with our spirituality can seem an uphill battle, the Rhoda offers you a chance to gently weave true spirit into your everyday life – to come to this place of learning just as you are, and leave more inspired and with better support for the spiritual aims you wish to seek.

The Rhoda is a safe space – both in person and online – where all are welcome, it’s good to ask questions, and discussion is part of how learning takes place. Our offerings include weekly livestreamed classes by resident teachers, visits by scholars from around the world, daily spiritual practice and prayer at the Rhoda Masjid, and special events for Ramadan, Rabi al Awwal, and other sacred occasions. We offer classes for children, youth and adults; and we are proud to have a strong online community as well our in-person community. Both are important to us. We welcome both those who drop in for occasional visits and those who are looking for an immersive experience that includes spiritual mentoring.

Come, be a part of this unique community – we’re waiting for you.
